Imperfect Ruptures is part of the series Equilibri Sbilanciati, which explores balance as a fragile and unstable condition. The work develops through layers of paint, drawn marks, and shifting fields of color that form a provisional system of relationships.
The canvas is intentionally punctured through small cuts and openings that interrupt the continuity of the surface. These ruptures are not concealed but reconstructed with thread, allowing traces of damage and repair to remain visible. The stitched interventions function as scars, recording both vulnerability and resilience within the composition.
The work investigates the tension between control and impulse, disruption and care. Rather than restoring wholeness, the process of repair becomes part of the image itself, transforming rupture into a structural element of the work.
What emerges is an imperfect equilibrium: a surface marked by interruption, reconstruction, and continuous adjustment, where fragility is not overcome but integrated into the form.
