IMPOSSIBLE
I
had a strange dream, mother. The earth had the colours of camouflage and I
lived
in
a burrow underground, seeking the sun amid the explosions.
Rifle in hand, I wake up like a real soldier, mother.
I
am cold and afraid but I think, no fool will take away my youth.
My
eyes are bigger, mother, when I search the colours of a sunset for the memory
of our beautiful life. So I think ... “impossible."
All this is impossible.
And
the light of hope caresses my heart.
IMPOSSIBILE
Ho fatto uno strano sogno, mamma. La
terra aveva i colori delle mimetiche e c’era una lingua sotterranea in cui
vivevo cercando il sole tra le esplosioni.
Fucile in mano mi sveglio come un
soldato vero, mamma.
Ho freddo e paura ma penso che un folle
non porterà via la mia giovinezza.
Ho due occhi più grandi mamma, quando
cerco nel colore di un tramonto il ricordo della nostra vita bella. Allora
penso…”impossibile”. Tutto questo è impossibile.
E la luce della speranza mi accarezza il
cuore.
