I question the relationship between dreams, belief, and art.
In this painting, love mediated through the mobile phone reflects the distance between body and mind, presence and absence — connection filtered through technology, much like consciousness filtered through pain, medication, and dreaming.
The ghost-like angel exists between worlds: protector and witness, embodying a liminal state of being neither fully present nor entirely elsewhere, a recurring condition within my Transcending Shadows series.
The dice symbolises uncertainty and the lack of control over the body, fate, and emotional outcomes, while the sunflower — small yet persistent — suggests an instinctive pull toward light, relief, and hope.
Together, these elements create a psychological landscape where vulnerability, chance, and desire coexist, revealing how the self navigates suffering by constructing inner sanctuaries that allow it to endure, imagine, and transcend its own shadows.
