Blue Riviera is inspired by the famous striped steps of Cannes, a place associated with cinema, glamour and the visual mythology of the French Riviera. Two women move through the composition with confidence and ease, their vintage swimwear, oversized sunglasses and vivid accessories recalling the elegance of mid-century fashion photography.
The bold horizontal stripes of the staircase create a strong rhythm behind the figures, transforming the setting into something almost theatrical. I wanted the women to appear as if they were entering their own scene—self-assured, independent and fully aware of their presence.
Through sharply defined planes of light and shadow, I combine the graphic clarity of Pop Art with the warmth and luminosity of Mediterranean summer. Turquoise, navy, red and white reinforce the connection with Cannes and its timeless seaside identity. For me, Blue Riviera celebrates female friendship, confidence and the freedom to take centre stage in one’s own life.
