Recurring villages, solitary figures and silent signs appear throughout my work like familiar companions. They move from one painting to another, gradually building an imaginary world. I never begin with a fixed narrative. The painting slowly discovers its own direction, and my task is simply to listen. Perhaps every painting already knows what it wants to say long before I understand it myself.Perhaps this painting also carries a quiet homage to Marc Chagall, whose dreamlike worlds have long been a source of wonder and emotion for me.
