BLUE ANGEL
Digital painting using Apple Pen on Ipad, printed on Canvas, 2025
From the series "Lumen Vigilis"
Artist Statement:
Blue Angel manifests as a celestial being of pure light consciousness, emerging from the quantum field where form and formlessness dance in eternal union. Created during deep meditative states using Apple Pencil on iPad, this work captures the moment when spiritual presence becomes visible—not as solid matter, but as flowing streams of luminous energy.
The composition reveals an angelic figure composed entirely of light particles and ethereal waves, suspended in layers of translucent blue ranging from midnight depths to crystalline whites. Countless luminous particles trace the angel's form like stardust, while flowing curves suggest wings that are simultaneously present and dissolving into the infinite. This is not an angel with fixed boundaries, but consciousness itself made visible—a being whose very essence is light in motion.
The vertical orientation emphasizes ascension and spiritual elevation, while the overlapping translucent layers create a sense of multidimensional presence. The angel exists in multiple planes simultaneously, embodying the Buddhist principle that emptiness and form are one—that the most profound spiritual truths are found not in solidity but in the transparent spaces between.
Through digital brushwork and light effects developed over 37 years of artistic practice, Blue Angel explores how contemporary technology can express ancient mystical experiences. The piece invites contemplation on the nature of divine presence: not as something separate from ourselves, but as the luminous awareness that flows through all existence when we quiet the mind and open to what Buddhist practice calls "clear light"—the fundamental nature of consciousness itself.
This work bridges the sacred art traditions of East and West, presenting the angelic archetype through the lens of quantum physics and Buddhist philosophy, where beings of light are understood as manifestations of universal consciousness rather than separate entities.
