Ephesus

Series: Ephesus I–V

I understand architecture as a carrier of cultural memory. Rather than the buildings as a whole, I am drawn to their architectural elements—capitals, reliefs, surfaces, and structural details—which I translate into porcelain and assemble into functional vessels. Historical forms are not reproduced but transformed into an independent contemporary visual language. My work explores architectural principles such as layering, articulation, rhythm, proportion, materiality, and fragmentation, creating objects at the intersection of architecture, craftsmanship, and design. Through their translation into a new material and functional context, these vessels reinterpret cultural heritage for the present rather than imitate the past.
