Cappadocia

Cappadocia is inspired by the sculptural landscape of Cappadocia, where erosion has shaped volcanic tuff into monumental rock formations and cave dwellings. The original form was carved from a solid block as a sculptural object before being translated into a plaster mould for slip-cast porcelain. Balancing the immediacy of carving with the precision of ceramic casting, the work occupies the space between vessel, sculpture, architecture, and landscape. Its layered surface recalls geological formations while reflecting on the dialogue between natural processes, human intervention, and the material qualities of porcelain.
