Her current work focuses on material experimentation in porcelain and stoneware, with a particular interest in structural instability, repetition, and transformation through firing processes.
She originally trained as a dress master in Stuttgart and studied fashion design at the Fashion School Düsseldorf, where she graduated as a state-certified fashion designer. Early in her career, she worked as a freelance designer for women’s coordinate collections across Europe and the Far East, later holding a permanent position as a fashion designer in Düsseldorf.
In 2008, she founded her own womenswear brand WEISS, specializing in loungewear and sleepwear collections, which were presented regularly at trade fairs in Germany and Paris. The brand was later sold in 2019, after which she continued to work as a freelance designer before shifting her focus increasingly toward material-based artistic practice.
Since 2021, she has developed her own porcelain collection Philyra, marking the transition from applied design to ceramic research. In 2025, she established her own porcelain studio in Düsseldorf, where she continues to explore experimental processes in ceramics, including mold-making techniques and high-temperature firing experiments.
Her current practice investigates ceramics as a field of tension between control and unpredictability. Works often emerge from processes of instability, where material behaviour, gravity, and firing conditions actively shape the final form.
