Title: Drift
Dimensions: 50 cm diameter × 1.5 cm depth
Medium / Materials: Resin, preserved botanicals
Description:
Drift is a contemporary nature artwork exploring movement, rhythm and the quiet relationship between organic forms and water.
Layers of translucent blue-green resin are manipulated into sweeping, fluid forms that create the impression of currents, eddies and gentle tidal movement. Small preserved flowers are suspended across the surface, appearing to drift within this flowing environment.
The contrast between the controlled movement of the resin and the fragile botanical elements creates a sense of stillness within motion. The flowers become delicate points of life carried through an imagined aquatic landscape.
The circular form reinforces the feeling of continuous movement, drawing the eye inward through successive waves and curves before returning it to the outer edge.
Created by hand, Drift combines resin and preserved natural elements to create a unique contemporary interpretation of nature, movement and transience.
Technique: Hand-worked resin with preserved botanical elements.
