Captured by the vibrant colours of the Dutch tulips last Spring, I reflected upon the incredible variety of flowers in nature and how each of them has their own kind of beauty. Beauty has different forms and cannot be uniformed in a single way. This is how I started to work on my Blooming collection, a collection of tapestries inspired by flowers, not trying to represent them, but to interpret their singular kind of beauty in each different tapestry. During the creative process I felt very intense emotions, it was like being wrapped in a cloud of colours that were blending all around me. The name Rococò comes from an existent type of tulip that features ruffled, twisted and fringed petals. The applied techniques are tufting, embroidery, felting and latch-hook.
