Artist Carina Wagenaar (NL, 1969) graduated from the Amsterdam University of the Arts. Her big wall jewels are inspired by cameos, lace, relics and symbolism. She translates feelings, thoughts and events into these monumental medallion works that combine modern, classic, playful and cool elements. By using mixed media she creates from all the abundance we have on the earth with details that matter as symbolism in a new story. In this way she translates her stories as large still lifes and creates life-size modern cameos with allegorical worlds, 3D and behind hemispherical acrylic glass. Her works are highly appreciated internationally and have been exhibited in numerous presentations around the world. Including in Milan, New York, Paris, London, Florence, Dubai, Antwerp, Madrid and Monaco and in various galleries in the Netherlands, her work is included in several permanent collections of various art collectors.
