In my work I am always looking for a new way to gain an impact on peoples emotions. I love to work with different materials and usually I create from all the abundance we have on this earth.Normally by visualizing 3D stories inside monumental medallion artworks, like modern cameo’s in huge sizes.
For my latest approach, I have been creating large human elements such as eyes and mouths. By using a contour from steel, they form large faces. By placing these towards each other, a connection is created.
What I have observed is that in recent years people have become more self-absorbed and this situation is increased by the corona periods. The communication has become very poor especially for the young ones. There is a big part of the younger people having fear of talking on the phone.This sign of the times and the importance of connection and having communicating with each other is exactly what I want to point out with my newest artwork installation called; 'Now we are talking!' An installation of the first image; where contours are communicating with each other. (on photo view 2 the steel has become black)
