Born in Bologna. Lives and works in Fano, Italy.
Sanna Denise graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino with a degree in Painting and a specialization in Sculpture. Her practice is grounded in seriality and repetition, which function as operative devices for constructing systems of visual analysis.
Her work adopts anatomical and scientific models as a structural framework, unfolding through processes of observation, measurement, and classification. Within this system, human, animal, and vegetal elements are dissected and recombined, generating hybrid and unstable bodies.
The images take the form of study plates: surfaces where the body is treated as observable material and subjected to visual protocols that destabilize its readability. Grids, coordinates, and annotations suggest a language of control that remains only partial, continually disrupted by error, deviation, and interference.
Drawing, sculpture, and mixed media converge into a practice that moves beyond representation, constructing instead a field of observation. The body emerges as an open system, continuously redefined.
She was awarded at the 16th International Sculpture Prize Edgardo Mannucci. Her work has been presented in exhibitions in Italy and internationally, including Premio Arte Laguna (Venice) and ARTBOX.PROJECT (Miami, Venice, Zurich).
