Annalisa Mercuri is a pharmaceutical scientist and artist. Her practice translates scientific data and statistics of societal significance into images: The neutrality of numbers becomes a sensory counterpart that speaks to the soul. In the contrast between hidden tragedy and the delicacy of form, she awakens a dulled sense of perception. Her themes revolve around climate, endangered nature, memory, space, time and human dignity.
Annalisa Mercuri has exhibited in solo exhibitions and several group-shows, including: Works on Narushima Washi (Japan), Le génie de la montagne (Switzerland), Segni, Colori, Memorie (Verona), and Wånder Wide Web (online). She also participated in Artistic residencies in Munich (Germany, 2022), Erbè (Italy, 2024) and received several awards, including the Special Jury Prize during the exhibitions Segni, Colori, Memorie (2025), Altri Segnali (2023), the Technical Jury Prize during the exhibition Yin Yang: Complementary Opposites and the First Prize during the exhibition Luce e Tenebre (2021). She is currently at the end of her Painting studies at the Open College of the Arts, UK.
