Read MoreYuri Catania (b. 1975, Milan) is an Italian-Swiss visual artist and photographer based in Rovio, Switzerland. After an international career in fashion photography and film direction, marked by exhibitions at Art Is Hope at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2013), and the Cavallo di Leonardo for best direction at the Milan International Film Festival (2014), his practice has turned to monumental, site-specific paste-up interventions. These works combine authorial photography, AI-generated imagery and augmented reality, executed with biodegradable paper and starch-based glue and realised through participatory processes. In 2021 he created I Gatti di Rovio, over 120 installations across Rovio and the Val Mara region, the most extensive open-air exhibition by a single artist in Switzerland. Recent works include the monumental facade of the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano, the largest street art work on glass, created for the facade of Credinvest Bank in Lugano, and his first bronze sculpture, presented in the 2026 solo exhibition Yuri in Wonderland.
