I am an American artist based in Geneva, Switzerland, working primarily with Microsoft Excel as a visual medium.
I use Excel not for data or formulas, but as a drawing space — building images manually through cells, shapes, lines, colors, grids, and layers. The spreadsheet is part of the work: its structure, limitations, and awkwardness become a way to make images that are both controlled and imperfect.
My background is in accounting and finance, so Excel has been part of my daily working life for many years. At some point, I began using it against its intended purpose. I was interested in what could happen when a tool associated with administration, calculation, and order was pushed toward something more intuitive, expressive, and human.
My work often moves between digital abstraction, figurative studies, and strange social scenes. I am drawn to faces, fragmented landscapes, artificial companionship, emotional distance, and the tension between structure and feeling. The pieces are digital, but I try to leave them with a handmade quality — rough edges, visible marks, and a sense of accident.
My Excel-based designs have been selected for Burning Man’s annual sticker program in 2018, 2024, and 2025. I continue to explore the spreadsheet as an unexpected space for contemporary image-making.
