Isa
Geiger, Swiss citizen, was born in Milan on 13 June 1965.
She currently lives on the Lake Maggiore in
Northern Italy.
She has a degree in Architecture from the
Polytechnic Institure of Milan and worked with various prestigious architecture
firms in Milan.
In addition to her professional work, which led
her to examine issues relating to territorial transformation and urban renewal,
her personal interests led her to explore the relation between lines and space.
After her early experiences in drawings, graphics
and working with textiles, her current works explore themes regarding spatial
transfomations and mutations and how time can affect on their deformation.
By working with metal and wire, she is able to rediscover the three-dimensional
aspects of the architectural object.
Recent years she rediscorver textile works and
ductile and mouldable material become her favorite medium.
But drawing remain the most primary and
essential practice for her research.
