The project starts from sketches of ordinary objects, an homage to the "world of things" which are firmed points of existence against the "infosphere" we are living in. The topic of infosphere is omnipresent, information are the new currency of an era dictated by random changes and repentine crisis. The work see a series of hybrid objects designed from different perspectives. The inspiration came from the reading of "Non-things: Upheaval in the Lifeworld" (2022) by the philosopher Byung-chul Han, who states that objects are indeed and eventually the ultimate things that keep tracks of memory, emotions and life.
His critics to the abstract and immaterial world of information led me to focus on my primary vehicle of communication which is for me digital art and graphic design. The act of drawing pushes me to reflect on things, the objects have invented names and titles, blending actions and playing with languages. The pictures can be conceived both as a collection and as single stand-alone pieces that hold abstract scenarios: a laid table (in Italian "tavolore"), a boiling pot (what's cooking?) these images want to reflect on the status quo of some of the current social phenomena and also of some personal reflections/ states of mind of mine.
The title "obj-activity" is a tribute to the actions that ordinary objects make us do throughout the daily life and routine, "firmed points of existence" in contrast with the chaos of life.
