A luminous fingerprint passes through the dominant media that have carried human thought: orality, writing, print, computation, AI, and three speculative post-AI substrates. Each state changes the fingerprint without erasing it. The sequence crosses from white through ink, code, interface, simulation, and luminescence to black silence, then folds back toward breath. The movement is not progress but a crossing.
The work asks what survives the signature. Every medium changes what it means to think. Every tool leaves a fingerprint on the self. The 22-state form insists that nothing is simply left behind: the fingerprint changes as the medium changes; the fingerprint remains.
Artist statement: I think about media the way some people think about climate, as something that shapes everything from the inside without being named. Writing is no longer only what humans do. Signatures Through Technologies holds that change in the body and asks what carries across when language itself becomes computational.
