Hopps (oops)
during two winters (2024 and 2025) Kg Augenstern created a serie of works in the frame of a long term research about the influence of art and ritual on electromagnetic fields. This research took place on a windy volcanic island south of Sicily.
Hopps is a video work dedicated to the mighty protectors of a hot spring in the south oft he island- a place that has been used since ancient times.
Some sounds are reccorded using a hydrophone (an underwater microphone).
The video was screened at several exhibitions (f.e. in Rome, Barcelona, Berlin) and selcted for several filmfestivals.
Hopps... can be screened as one video or as a loop in combination with the second video work in the application: For the daughter of the wind.
