In automn 2019 the Berlin based artist group Kg Augenstern (Christiane
Prehn and Wolfgang Meyer) explored places in Sicily that have been abandoned
within the last decades. With their flexible, extendable Tentacles (carbon
fiber canes), they scratched circles on the surface of those contemporary ruins
to reveal the specific sounds of the various material and the surrounding. A
camera installed in the center of the circles recorded the images. The research
was accompanied by experiments with raw sheep wool and clay as materials
corresponding to the ephemeral appearance and transitory atmosphere of the
places. The outcome of the research was presented as an exhibition in a old
prayer hall in Palermo. The music is an old tibetan poem about the Bardo, the
transitory state inbetween life and death. The project was curated by N38E13.
