Created from the artist’s own photographs taken during a journey through China, China on the Move transforms personal travel memories into a reflection on movement, time, and perception. The spatial and temporal dimensions of reality become fluid: the viewer is transported simultaneously to 90 locations across China, while each captured moment is endlessly recreated.
Through looping images, time appears reversible, dissolving linear progression and creating a contemplative experience of simultaneity, repetition, and presence. The work reveals travel not only as a passage through space, but also as a collection of memories that continue to unfold and transform over time.
The artwork is presented as a 3-minute video designed for wall projection. To fully express its concept, it should be displayed in continuous loop mode, allowing the sequence to repeat endlessly and reinforcing the perception of cyclical time.
Due to the submission file size limit (4 MB), a still image is provided for evaluation together with a download link to the complete 3-minute video. The artwork is intended to be projected on a wall in continuous loop mode as an integral part of the installation.
