Aulosphaera is a radiolarian skeleton at the scale of architecture: a walk-in lattice of luminous struts crowned with radial spines, rendered in marble-clad structural tube. Its material closes a circle: Carrara marble is metamorphosed Jurassic seabed, built by marine micro-organisms: to build a radiolarian in Carrara is to return the stone to the life that formed it. Conceived for open landscape, the piece stands as a fossil that breathes light. To walk into it is to enter a body that lived at a scale beneath perception and a time before the human: deep time and micro-scale folded into one inhabitable present.
