Within
In Within, Tanja Pak creates a meditative environment where translucent textiles obscure and reveal delicate sculptural forms, inviting viewers into a space of slowed perception and quiet contemplation. The semi-veiled installation evokes an almost sacred atmosphere; an in-between space of rest, solitude, and subtle transformation. Through layered materials and shifting light, Pak explores the tension between concealment and revelation, presence and absence.
Central to the work are sculptural tree-forms, halves of the trunks from within delicate glass branches emerge. The glass branches glow like fragile stumps in moonlight, embodying both vulnerability and resilience. They evoke the remnants of an avalanche; fragments of nature shattered, retrieved, and reimagined in glass, now shimmering with the promise of renewal.
Pak’s mastery in shaping glass captures a delicate balance between fragility and strength, evoking inner landscapes and emotional resonance.
Within offers a poetic spatial experience that reflects on chosen and imposed solitudes, the silence of stillness, and the fleeting clarity that light can bring. It is a space of subtle contrasts, of light and shadow, inside and outside, touch and distance, where viewers are invited to pause, breathe, and find their own reflection within.
In the proposed composition for Arte Laguna, there are five Trees, on the area of 4 x 4 meters, 240 cm high.
