The thread on the loom is taken from the old duvet cover from the artist's childhood that she had used for a decade. Since she moved to Chicago and separated from her hometown, she recognized that the memory of her childhood started fading away. Where I Started is the starting point of a series of small weaving pieces on handmade looms. The action of unraveling the thread from the old duvet cover retrieves the fading memories, claims the fragility of a person's past. By reweaving the used thread into a new piece of fabric, the memory is reconstructed. The new fabric with a few dots of the color blue is evidence of the whole transformation process.
