Shoe shell

A shoe is a structure created to embrace and protect the human body.

A shell is a natural form that protects a living organism.

This work explores the connection between these two forms of protection.

I was inspired by the organic curves of seashells — forms that appear beautiful while also carrying a sense of unfamiliarity and mystery. Their attraction lies in their resemblance to the human body: soft curves, traces of movement, and a presence that feels both familiar and strange.

The leather base preserves the identity of the shoe, while the plaster surface transforms it into a shell-like structure.

Through this transformation, the object shifts from a functional item into a sculptural form that exists between body, nature, and memory.
