From the series Nothing Remains Unchanged, Yet Nothing Completely Disappears
When different times coexist.
This work approaches memory as a landscape rather than a sequence of events. Layers of kiln-formed glass accumulate without merging, allowing each one to retain its own presence while becoming part of a larger whole. Some are almost transparent, others darker, carrying the traces of different moments in time.
Clouds are one of my recurring motifs because they embody continuity through transformation. Like memories, they are constantly changing, yet never entirely disappear. Each new layer does not replace the previous one; it settles above it, allowing different times to coexist within the same form.
A thin metal wire gently links the stacked layers. More symbolic than structural, it suggests the fragile thread that connects experiences across time. Memory is not fixed or linear. It grows through accumulation, where every layer continues to influence those that follow.
Made from reclaimed glass, cut, pigmented and kiln-formed, the sculpture reveals shifting relationships between opacity, colour and light. As the viewer moves around the work, hidden layers gradually emerge and recede, echoing the way memories continually surface, fade and return. The sculpture invites us to see memory not as something preserved unchanged, but as a living presence, constantly rewritten while remaining whole.
