The 6-legged perched cabin is a lost-wax bronze edition made by Galerie 54 Eric Touchaleaume in Paris.
Edition of 8 copies numérotées, fonderie PaumelleThe artistic universe of Marjolaine Dégremont, generically, is that of fragilities. Human fragility, implicitly evoked through abstract drawings with soft lines and uterine networks. Fragility, too, of the "business of living" (Cesare Pavese), evoked through installations where the theme of refuge is persistent and where canvas tents abound to shelter oneself and other cabins perched on long tortuous stems, an allusion to the permanent risk of falling. Fragility, again, of environmental balances, evoked by the artist through sculptures which are deliberately reduced to simple trellises arranged in the natural environment like so many punctuations as aerial as an insect resting on the surface of the water, “fear of breaking everything by making too much noise”, as the poet says.
