The Sea Above (Headless Women - Series)

Identity is never static; it exists as a continuous cycle of containment and dispersion. A sharp tension unfolds between vulnerability, conveyed through the exposed torso in its total nudity, and agency, embodied by the deliberate act of holding one's own face. The title evokes a mind that hovers above the subject like an overwhelming tide.

The Process:

A ritual of assembly and dissolution. Hand-painted fragments are combined with hand-colored editorial cutouts in a temporary physical assemblage. Once scanned and digitally processed, the work is dismantled. The physical pieces are preserved for future artworks.
