From the series Conchiglia. Seen from below, the villa's spiral staircase coils like the chambers of a shell — the form that gives the series its name. The ironwork turns inward toward a distant point of light. Where the other images show grandeur eroding outward, this one folds the architecture in on itself: the building as a shell, a mental space, the empty geometry left behind by a life that has moved on.
