The Erosion of the Sacred

From the series Conchiglia. A former reception room, its rococo ceiling and rose-pink walls still breathing the memory of ceremony, while its patterned floor lies shattered across the ground. The ornamental and the ruined share a single frame: grandeur has not vanished but eroded in place. The image asks what survives of the sacred once its setting begins to return to dust.
