Dig-nificant Metamorphosis is a 3-piece photograph, using my body part/skin as a representation, with this notion of 'this ' dignified defiance fuelled by the state of '20 and the self-worth, courage, temperance, and injustice. These arts are adage to persons of the marginalized.
The art is dived into 2 parts, photography and moving imagery, with sound and audio. The use of self-photography came about from re-examining the image of Rosa Parks on The Bus and imaging her thoughts and actions, using the clenched fists as a symbol for her comments in her autobiography, I thought "The time had just come when I had been pushed as far as I could stand to be pushed, I suppose. I had decided that I would have to know, once and for all, what rights I had as a human being, and a citizen" Rosa Parks (February 4, 1913–October 24, 2005)
The title of the artwork derives from the two words; Dignified and Significant.
"Dignified" is regal in meaning when applied to someone, while "Significant" is noticeable; esp. in leading to an important change. The artwork has latched onto these two definitions of the words, by responding to this systemic catalyst that exists within the marginalized.
