This trilogy withholds healing instead of depicting it: it changes in the presence of the viewer, and asks them to supply its conditions. What you see depends on what you bring to it — warmth, ultraviolet light.

In Trauma, thermochromic matter keeps four faces submerged in a cold blue; warmth alone — the temperature of the room, a body drawing near — lets the red of the wound surface, only to withdraw once the heat dissipates. Cicatrizzazione is the one fixed state, refusing the exchange: matter closed upon itself, neither concealing nor disclosing, the scar offered as the only honest form. In Guarigione a single face rests in a cold light, yet the ring that would complete it appears solely under ultraviolet — healing as a conditional, fugitive event, never a destination. From four faces to one, from heat to light as the activating agent, the work declines consolation: nothing here is repaired, only differently illuminated. Its earth-brown returns, discreetly, in the lower register of Guarigione — the wound is never wholly left behind.
