Illustration n4 from a still open series with the non-definitive name "Oracoli" ("Oracles").
The theme of the drawing is the ancient Tuaregh city of Timbuktu, currently located in Mali, in Saharan Africa. Famous for its riches and as an important cultural and commercial crossroad for arabic civilisation, Timbuktu has become the emblem of an exotic and mythological place. I re-imagined this city as a gigantic castle made of earth, with gigantic overhanging objects, a crown made of rounded merlons, which recall the shapes of the desert dunes where it is located, and finally a pyramidal platform cracked by the heat of the sun. On the left side the large inscription of the city in the Tifinagh alphabet.
