Illustration n2 from a still open series with the non-definitive name "Oracoli" ("Oracles").
The theme of the drawing is the Mayan temple, which is part of the monumental complex of Tikal, currently located in Guatemala and formerly an important capital of this pre-Columbian civilization. I took the shape of a real temple and I opened large horizontal cuts to be able to look inside and suggest the internal structure, and then I placed it on a large stone base to create an "exotic" shape that could suggest a kind of spaceship, arrived on earth but still in mid-air. At the top right there is the cartouche, with the logogram of the city of Tikal in Mayan writing. Finally, in the background I reproduced the luxuriant vegetation that currently covers the ruins of this ancient civilization.
