-The body is a gift that cannot be exchanged or returned. A divine gift. The only thing that makes us alive, and for such a short time.
These works move away from contemporary social manifestos on self-acceptance or the aestheticization of appearance—they look deeper, changing the point of view. At the body as a gift to be accepted as a whole, no matter what happens to it, no matter how it changes or how it looks from the outside.
The technique of monotype and drypoint on cardboard was not chosen by chance. The very texture of the cardboard and its vulnerability to every touch of the tool emphasize the fragility and tenderness of the human body. From this same fragility, a hidden message emerges: each work features the word "подарок" written in Russian letters, with each letter formed from thin blades of grass.
For me, this is a continuation of an honest conversation with my own nature. The image is captured in a material that is far more fragile than the human body, yet is capable of outliving me and speaking to the viewer even after my death.
