Working with natural materials, I do not depict nature, but enter into co-authorship with it. By applying layers of color onto natural veneer, I emphasize patterns already existing in the material, allowing the organic structure to reveal hidden forms.
The work unfolds as a dialogue with the natural texture, where cracks, fibers, and layers become active participants in the revelation of meaning.
The painting “Plato’s Cave” reflects the state system as an echo of the ancient Greek allegory, where human beings perceive only shadows of shadows. The media mirror these projections, subtly shaping collective perception and replacing truth with illusion. Concepts of security and reality itself become distorted, while people, confined within their personal “caves,” search for confirmation of their beliefs in social networks and mass media. Yet, in becoming aware of this play of shadows, we rediscover a path back to the authentic essence of the world.
