I work with perception at the threshold between the visible and the experienced. The motif of this piece emerges from long-standing processes embedded in the structure of the wood. By applying layers of color onto natural veneer, I reveal patterns already present in the material, allowing hidden forms to surface.
I do not impose an image on the material, but follow it.
The central form suggests a presence a figure or a breath, appearing from within the material itself, as if the wood remembers and reveals something beyond the visible.
I see an analogy between the maturation of a person and the growth of a tree: the breath of their life pulsates in the rhythms of the cosmos.
