This work is part of a series on the theme of the oniric. It follows a complex research on the concepts of limit, blindness and human introspection: the body's propioception between the environment and it's inner world.
This work in particular depicts the Gates of Sleep: the Ivory Gate and the Horn Gate, associated with false and true dreams. Exploring the theme of dreams highlights the instinctive human search for truth and the importance of active interpretation, even of oneself. The viewer is invited to contemplate the nature of their inner body and landscape, choosing their own gate.
The figures at the center of the painting appear to dance or explode, with a painterly effect suggesting an elusive truth or an illuminating vision. The reflectring tape sorrounding the canvas negotiates a boundary of transition between the reality and the image as an apparition.
This project examines the perception of the dream world and the responsibility of interpreting reality critically.
