This work explores the tension between internal chaos and
the pressure to maintain an outward appearance of calm and beauty. Using the
nun as a symbolic figure, the piece addresses the experience of
"madness" hidden beneath a composed exterior. The stitches binding
the arms represent the social expectations that constrain women, demanding they
remain poised even while navigating deep internal conflict. Through this
tactile struggle, the work captures the silent, exhausting weight of holding
oneself together to meet an idealized standard.
