Yusuf) is one of the greatest poets and storytellers of Persian literature in the 6th century
AH. He is known as the pioneer of verse storytelling with his unique storytelling style and
mastery in his works and poems. His most important and famous work is the collection
Khamseh or Panj Ganj, which includes the following five Masnavis:
Makhzan al-Asrar: In the field of ethics and mysticism. Khosro and Shirin: One of the most
romantic stories in Persian literature. Leili and Majnun: Nizami's most famous love story.
Haft Peykar: Includes the stories of seven princesses from seven regions.
Iskandernameh: Contains legends and the story of Alexander.
Nizami's poetry is distinguished by features such as very precise and imaginative
descriptions, powerful staging, and the invention of new linguistic combinations. He was
not a court poet and in his poems he always expressed moral and humane advice through
the language of poetry.
