Following his retirement Dave Marsh has rediscovered his love of painting and drawing after a 50 year hiatus.
This painting is a portrait of my friend Emily who was happy on an Autumn evening because she was drinking a glass of Halfpenny Green cider just as the Moon came out.
It is an experiment in achieving photo- realism with a freer brush style. I've attempted to show the subdued colours on an Autumn evening emphasising the orange highlights of the cider, fire and Emily's hair.
