This artwork depicts two women standing on the golden sands of Hualien, dressed in vibrant Hakka floral dresses and adorned with wreaths woven from pansies and dried marigold flowers, gazing silently at the distant Pacific Ocean and the afterglow of the setting sun. They seem to be speaking to each other, sharing a message of belonging to this place.
The azure ocean, the soft sand, and the distant, faintly visible mountains showcase the unique geographical tension and tranquil power of the eastern islands. This is the scenery that feels most like home in my memory, and the place where my soul most longs to rest.
