I & I & I was created while studying at university, shortly after a temporary ordination during a school break. The painting emerged from an early decision to focus on the mind as a central subject within the work.
At the time, the mind was not experienced as calm or resolved, but restless, fragmented, and continuously shifting. Rather than searching for harmony, the work reflects an initial awareness of conflicting inner states and the unstable formation of self.
This marked the beginning of a long-term exploration into the space before identity fully settles into form.
