Fissures II examines fracture through the contrast between an unglazed black clay surface and an interior composed of fragmented porcelain shards. The matte, restrained exterior appears dense and continuous, while the openings reveal a disrupted inner structure made from sharp, irregular fragments. Rather than concealing breakage, the work places fragmentation at its centre, allowing fractured material to become part of a new spatial and visual order. The tension between the dark exterior and the exposed white shards challenges ideas of wholeness and stability. Here, the fissure is not simply a sign of destruction, but a threshold through which hidden material structures and states of vulnerability become visible.
