This one started with an accident. I threw raw pigment from Nepal - onto the linen, completely out of my control. And then I had to respond to it. The splash became this force from above, almost like something being fired from above, and the form below is catching it, being transformed by it.
For me it's really about the moment when something happens to you that you didn't choose, and you gave to decide what to become because of it.
That tension between control and surrender is something I keep coming back to in my work.
