This work engages with the Ashta Veerattaanam, a constellation of eight Tamil Shaivite narratives traditionally framed as acts of divine destruction. Drawing from the visual grammar of South Indian temple architecture, the composition reconfigures these mythologies into a contemporary discourse on transformation—where annihilation operates as a necessary precursor to renewal.
By translating culturally specific narratives into a broader psychological and philosophical framework, the work interrogates cycles of ego, dissolution, and reconstruction. The central presence of Ardhanareeshwara functions as both anchor and resolution—an embodiment of duality, balance, and the synthesis that follows rupture.
