"Alter Ego" draws on C. G. Jung's interpretation of the sea as a metaphor for the subconscious. Through its minimalist presence - as both landscape and soundscape - the seaside offers a space for self-reflection, releasing the mind from external overstimulation and directing attention inward. This effect is supported by neuroscientific findings as well as personal experience. "Alter Ego" metaphorically represents the conscious and subconscious aspects of the self, suggesting that wholeness can only emerge when both are united.
The diptych consists of two separate half-circles, united to a tondo artwork.
