'Fainting slowly' is an immersive art installation that intricately weaves the characteristic struggles of femininity and nature within the bounds of human culture. Wrapped around the trunk is a knitted copper corset, symbolically evoking the ways in which social norms and collective expectations throughout history have constrained both women and nature. Just as the corset once restricted the female form, it now binds the tree, epitomizing the suffocating embrace of human culture on the natural world.
“Fainting slowly” challenges viewers to confront the interconnection between gender inequality, environmental exploitation, and cultural dictatorship, aiming to dismantle systems of cultural oppression and restore balance on our planet.
